Car Magazine crashes the FF!
Discussion
Just looked like the car stepped out and smashed the wheel into a kerb. Oops.
Have to say the car has really grown on me, looks great in a dark colour and sounds amazing. Was unconvinced about the packaging but having seen proper pics now it looks shockingly practical! Perhaps Ferrari fans may finally have an everyday car?!

I'm surprised at his reaction to the curbing. It's just an alloy - they way he carried on was as if he wrote the car off!
What would your reaction be to it? "Oh well it's only a wheel, Ferrari can fix it. Anyway."
Really?
Lots of people can bee seen to smash their own cars on 'ring videos, and you don't see half that reaction from them.
I guess his reaction is a reflection of the kind of retribution he is likely to face (whichever form that takes), or his natural reaction to the damage, or both - which I find surprising.
just a thought he didnt know it was just the wheels until he got out and looked. For all he knew the back end could be missing. Do you know it was only acoulple of wheels and not susspension damage, drivetrain etc etc?
Its his job and ferrari have a rep, it could mean him never having the oportunity to drive one again etc etc. The office may give him a b
king his rep is on the line. There are plenty of reasons why he would be s
tting himself.
I would rather damage my own car than somebody elses when on a job but thats just me. but everybody is different, what surprises me is that you are surprised.

His reaction was unchanged after he saw the damage and returned to the car.Pesty said:

Do you think they would sack a senior and very well regarded test driver then put up the video of the accident on their own website as a bit of slap and tickle? If it was that much of an embarrassment to them, and the nail in the coffin wrt further test drives from Ferrari, they wouldn't have advertised the incident. There is no way it would ever have crossed his mind that he would have been sacked because of that. My point is that he is a senior jounalist, not a newbie. For a newbie to have that kind of reaction would be understandable.

2 curbed alloys is really no big deal. Journos have done much much worse and gotten away with it. If I curb my best friend's new Zonda, which he had to sell his wife and kids for, I wouldn't react like that. I'd get on the phone and tell him I'm sorry and that I've just ordered him some new ones. You are right we are all different. That is my take on it. It's entirely subjective.
