Is there a market, in surrey ,Hampshire, Berks,for Welding shield gas without the bottle rental as per Air products and BOC?
Argon ,co2 and co2/argon for mild steel etc in 10 litre bottles that standard regulators will fit on.

Just a bottle deposit as with some bbq gas bottles and the cost of the contents.

I've got some mig welding to do soon with my small mig that takes disposable bottles or borrow my mates one that needs a refillable bottle at a non rip-off rental price

Allegedly you can "get hold"of a spare Argonsheild bottle and use your mates account to refill it!,there are different types of Argonsheild,light,heavy and universal,depending on the thickness of material you are welding.BOC are now fitting security tags round the tops of the bottle necks to prevent you exchanging ones you have found residing in a ditch for the last 10 years!

Its not a problem to borrow/get my mates bottle refilled, its justifying the rip-off rental price (£100 + ?) you have to pay to e.g. BOC/Air products when you only need to use it a few times a year.

I was with Air products for 15 years until last month.
I took my half size bottle back in protest at the £100+ rental charge every year.
I now feel like both my legs and arms have been cut off.

Whilst looking for an alternative ,I came across a Company that sells same argoshield mix in 10 litre bottles with no rentaljust a deposit for the bottle, which is I think roughly equivalent to half the size of what I used to have.
I am collecting one next week ,so see if it does the job.
