Finally got out for a dry weather hoon this avo, giving me a chance to bed in the new clutch and fly properly. One thing i did notice (windows down) that i havnt noticed before is that when you change from P500 to P500S you get a much nicer exhaust note at WOT. Its almost like an induction growl like you would get with a K&N. Is there a valve system in the exhaust to give this effect or an intake adjustment? I know that switching from P400 to P500 adjusts the throttle openings but whats the big difference between P500 and P500S then?

Gotta love the E61 though. Leaving a DB9 Vantage for dead definately brings a feeling of supreme power!

I always thought P400 to P500 was a complete fuelling map change whereas P500 to P500S was solely throttle opening?

Fairly confident it's just placebo. For a given distance travel on the accelerator the note will appear to change all else equal when the throttle map changes in much the same way it would if you pressed your foot down a little further.

The throttle map changes between P400, P500 and P500s.
