Ah ha, suckers.
They are going to redesign every junction, put pedestrian crossings all over and just generally make every drivers life hell.
The same as they have done to parts of Leeds recently.
That'll about sum it up I guess. I am convinced there is not one member of the Sheffield transport committee who actually drives a vehicle. They can't possibly drive, no not possible.....with all the crappy decisions they have made in the last few years. They are going to redesign every junction, put pedestrian crossings all over and just generally make every drivers life hell.

Hey, you're ok though, you dont actually drive a supercar or anything do you, so its not too bad with your suspension on your soft family car!
SCC piece de resistance was the £20million they spent on 'traffic measures' to improve flow through Norton Woodseats. Result? - absolute gridlock and driving hell since it was introduced, it has worked so well they are now dismantling the lot and reverting back to 'as was before' - trust them to spend the £1.2 billion wisely? I think not

I remember Sheffield city centre was gridlocked a few years ago after a bus broke down – in a bus lane!
So we have at least 7 years of major roadworks and traffic jams to look forward to - I can't wait!!
I remember that I think. Was it on Nursery Street? So we have at least 7 years of major roadworks and traffic jams to look forward to - I can't wait!!

Again it just highlights the fact that they (Transport Committee) have no clue whatsoever about traffic and the flow of it. They forced everyone down four of five major routes into Sheffield centre. And the inevitable happened.....one blocked road and the whole city comes to a standstill. They cut off all the 'rat runs' etc made them all 'No Entry', or 'One Way' or blocked them off entirely with bollards.
I read their Transport Manifesto which was available for a time on the Sheffield.gov website. First few sentences were very promising. Talking about 'working with people who use their cars to get into work' (sic). And spent the rest of the million or so pages talking about getting people onto public transport. Not one more mention about cars throughout the entire document. Typical and DEFINITELY a sign of what's to come.
