Hamilton/how long stay charged
Discussion
Quick question folks.
Treated myself in dec 09 to a Hamilton Kahki watch, type that "charges" itself when your wearing it.
Now never having owned a watch of this type I was surprised to find if worn all weekend, it would be flat and stopped by mid weds.
I just presumed it was the norm, however just been looking on web to treat myself again and have found a watch for sale that has been returned to seller for " not holding charge and will need to be sent away to hamilton for a service"
Got me think, maybe mine has this problem, always has, I just didnt know it.
Over to you folks, have I got a duff watch.

Sounds fine to me. Most mechanical automatics (which is what you have) will last around 2 days without being 'charged', the charging part being the weight spinning with the movement of the watch which in turn winds the spring that powers it.
If you only wear your watch on weekends but you'd like it to be running all the time then you can buy watch winders such as this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Time-Tutelary-Automatic-Wa... something like this will rotate the watch every so often mimicking wrist movement

Thanks folks, spot on.
I have and use a "single watch winder".
Looking at a Citizen which has a "eco-drive" which according to info can last 2 months.
