As per the title really. The wife has a 120d M-Sport that is very well spec’d. We are now after a bigger car as the kids are 14 & 16 and no longer fit in the rear. Highlights are ....

2007 (57) 5 door with 56k miles
Metallic silver/grey
Full grey leather + extended
Electric memory sports seats (even the side bolsters adjust)
Sat Nav i-Drive
18” alloys
Manual
Silver trim
Xenons
Sun Roof
Climate control
Heated Seats
The list just goes on & on. It’s tax’d and the MOT runs to September. It needs new rears and the wheels could do with a refurb. (These would be done if we sell it privately)
Any ideas? We have been offered a PX price against a BMW AUC 520D Touring that we were not overly impressed with.

Cheers

That makes me feel a bit better! We have been offered £10,250. Fiona's was about £31k!!!! new. We didn't pay that though. She has had it 2 years.

What would be a fair price if sold privately? I'm guessing £12 - 13k

£10500 is Glasses top book price for a basic car, I would expect one with leather, nav, bluetooth and xenons to get a realistic bid of around £11500 and a private sale of around £13000.

However I have not looked at what prices are doing out there.

In my experience that kind of top spec does not necessrily value the car any higher than a lower spec model but will make it easier to sell - that would sell quickly as a private sale I reckon

Christ on a bike! That makes the 6.2k I got for my 05 90k 120d a couple of weeks ago much easier to stomach!

Autocar article in latest issue says April is the time to hit the auctions for a used car.

They tell us to expect used car prices to be at a low during April due to oversupply and various financial hikes.

You might be better off waiting a few months to see if things pick up..
