Away the lads! (and lady). A great result that makes Simons prediction of Noble winning the championship look a real possibility. Dare I mention the fact that they beat EVERY Ferrari & TVR in class? I would'nt want to stir up that Hornets nest again.LOL.
Well Done Rollcentre & Well Done Noble.

I didn't like to mention it , particularly given the fact that obviously the Noble would be slower than them two with it's "c**p" interior

To be honest I don't know how the drivers can concentrate on trying to win the race when the stereo is so far out of reach

That's what the pit stops are for. Adjusting the volume etc.

I am new to the Gassing Station but find all of your exchanges and pictures immensely informative as I am about to go test drive a GTO-3R and decide if I should buy one here in the U.S.

Does anyone know how the BritishGT Cup Noble M12 compares to the normal car sold to the public? Does it have the same engine or is it highly modified? Suspension? etc.?

GT Cup car has a DETUNED engine, as there is a strict power-to-weight ratio that the Cup class cars must meet. Standard road car is around 350bhp, Cup car is around 270bhp.

Other tweaks include anti-roll bars back and front (the M400 has the same front one) and the interior has been knocked around a bit to get a large race seat put in.

Oh - it also carries around 60kg of lead where the passenger would normally be

Apart from that and the normal fire extinguisher systems and the odd race data logger it's all pretty similar.

The race car also has air-jacks and 3-way adjustable Olhins suspention. Martin.

PS - it also has a quick-filler in the small window.

Centre-lock wheels too now!!

Hi guys, thanks for all the messages of support. We are all ecstatic to get the car on the podium at the second meeting but still left the track a little disappointed that we hadn't got at least one win. Fanny and I drove our little hearts out but it wasn't to be. FULL marks to our select crew of Julian, Trevor, Mike and Geoff though, they worked flat out all weekend.

I will write a report at some point but with my exams starting on Thursday don't hold your breath, I'm just leaving the house for the library now...

congratulation Simon.

Just one quick question...how does a student manage to own and race a Noble?...us tax payers must be contributing far too much to student coffers

...or is it that you're just some hugely talented driver with some serious sponsorship?

He doesn't own it, he's just a very talented driver and I guess, very lucky! See his bio here www.pullanpower.co.uk/

thanks for the link. Great site. I'll be following his progress with interest.

Guess white looks like the in-colour for noble now...the racing colour...and seemingly the colour of the GTC mule if you look at the Autocar article on Lee Noble.

Congrats on the result Simon! , How did the car get on? I've not heard any news but it seemed to work alright for you and Fanny. How did the gear linkage setup go?
Was going to come to Mondello just to tag along etc. but was told help wasn't needed. I'll try my best to get along to Snetterton tho!

Lucky doesn't come close. I'm one of the luckiest people I know to have driven the cars I've driven at my age.

And Ash, the car was great. The linkage is much better now, obviously the change is still quite slow because of the sychros but at least it's positive now, thanks. The chassis was, once again, sublime. The car stayed so neutral throughout the race it was amazing. I could lap just as quickly at the end of my stint as at the start.

Common misconception Martin. The fuel load makes very little difference in comparison to tyre wear and general heating up of the car.

Forgot to say earlier, thanks for all your help Ash.

No probs Simon, I'm glad to see the car doing well, and I'm glad to help out.

Oh, n by the way, what other cars you raced?... "You lucky, lucky b*****d!" (Although I suppose skill might come into it too.)

Keep it up dude
