clutch ?

lost ability to change gear, reved it and got it into 2nd and made it to a pub , had car recoverd by rac home .

will not engage gear while engine is running,

could it be the spring fingers on the clutch ? or something else

car had run fine all day (150 mile trip) showed no signs of an impending failure.

That or the seals gone in the master cylinder.how old is the clutch? You may be lucky and the plates are ok.

Could also be a collapsed spigot bearing sticking the input shaft & crank together, Happened on mine.

Clutch feels like normal and pedal is not staying at floor, fluid level is also OK no fluid leaking into bell housing either... makes me think collapsed/broken diaphragm fingers....sorry hog
