I know what i would be buying every minute of the day!!
If looks spec and desireability were anything to go for, one is vastly overpriced and one is vastly underpriced IMHO. I'll let you decide!

I suppose the manta is becoming rarer and maybe overpriced..But i think sometimes some of the TVRs that i see are severely under priced,Especially considering what work has been done to some of them..Maybe its the "Well what do you expect,Its a TVR" stinking attitude..Or the fact that you have to keep on top of the maintenance as they do need more than most cars and there always seems to be something going wrong with them..I hope that once everything has been done on my 280 i can enjoy just driving it and servicing it with no more issues..Then i will laugh in the face of such cynicism..How long in comparison would the body of a TVR last compared to the shell of the manta in total..100 Years?
Its crazy Zig i have owned versions of both cars, and while the manta was a nice car to drive it was nowhere near as exciting experience as the event you get in a wedge. It just dont make sense to me, the more chance they have to rot it seems the more value they are worth, take a MK II Escort for example they are crazy money for a good un now and in all essence a S**T car.
Baffling to say the least. You've only got to take a peak in here.....

Im just glad i bought a TVR instead of a manta..Everone looks at mine..And i dont care about the overall cost as ive spent thousands on just normal boring non looking average run o t mill ugly smelly other cars..The amount of ladies that talk to me know where i live says it all..Just need to pull one of em..

I'e said it before but wedges in particular seem to me to be very undervalued. I know they're a 'marmite' car but I think inevitably that wedge prices must start to rise at some point as the cars themselves become more scarce?
P.S. I have a soft spot for Manta's having cut my teeth on them so I'll decline to comment on that one - however, try and find another Manta like the one advertised........

'Most original on the market' ?
I don't ever remember seeing one that looked remotely like that.
I know what I'd rather spend my 8 grand on....no contest.
Old Escorts are going for silly money because the rally boys want them.
Supply and demand I guess, but I agree the standard car was very 'standard'.
Fantastic gearboxes though, as with all RWD Fords from that era.

Interesting. That 390SE must be one of the last 'Series 1.5' 390SEs as it has the earlier-style front airdam and sills. I'm a bit sceptical about it having "one of the original Andy Rouse prepared engines (not NCK)" as, unless it's been transplanted in, NCK had been making the 390 motor for quite some time by the start of '88...
I was offered a very tidy TR6 before I bought my wedge at £8,000, twas nice with loads of history, but in the end the wedge too my interest way more. Ok it cost more to do with the work that needed doing but even a warm-hatch is faster than the TR.
But it is horses-4-courses with peoples' choices.
