So i just got out as i saw the lovely weather... Walked to car wanted to take roof off but the right hand handle in boot isnt creating enough movement in the wire to release it ... Could somebody give me some idiot proof instructions of how to fix this ? smile

The length of the cable is adjustable. This pic is from the right hand side of the boot and it wasn't until I saw the carpet that I realised that you could pull it down and get much better access. There is a snap on clip which holds the yoke on, take this off and you can adjust the length with the nut. If this isn't enough you can pull the wire to release the roof and then adjust the roof catch.

Had the same problem last May - the lever in the boot was not fully retracting the roof release pin on the driver's side. You could see this from the small gap between the roof panel and the roll bar. I used a small screwdriver to push the release pin back.

As above, apparently it is easy to adjust. Have not done it though yet.

Before you need to strip down the cables/levers....

With the roof off you can see the roof locator pins, they can get pretty grubby in the body work, mine got very sticky and I found a liberal dose of GT85 or WD40 does the job a treat. You may find as I did that the cable and levers suddenly start working like new.
