I thought these might be of use to you lot coming to Le Mans:-

Do you sell bottled water? Voulez vous sucer ma bite?

Where are the toilets madame? Peux je caresser tes seins?

Have you seen my cat? Avez vous une belle chatte?

Nice to meet you. Allez vous faire foutre connard.

What time is the next train? Allons nous aux chiottes ensemble?

Can you tell me the time please?

These are just a few, but if you need any more translations just ask.

It's good to have Le Mans resident Lowdrag's colloquial french translations - so much better and more effective than ordinary literal translations. I'm sure it will really bring a new dimension to the entente cordiale for newcomers to the 24 heures du Mans!

'Pression' is draft beer, 'Poisson' is fish (although both may well be mis-spelt. Asking for the wrong one in a bar may cause confusion.

J B L. Puis-je is OK, but locals don't use it. Can I or may I is now the same thing. And everybody looks at you if you say je n'ai pas instead of j'ai pas nowadays. It's like j'eusse - it's never heard. Subjunctives also sometimes. The times I've corrected a french boy for saying "Il faut que je fais" instead of "Il faut que je fasse". But then I know nothing as a "Sarthois Britannique".

I was jesting Lowdrag wink

Having lived in Britain for the best part of 10 years I now tend to lose my French so I make an extra effort to use the most correct turn of phrase as good practice.

Started to read French books again as it was getting really bad...

Lowdrag, whilst I appreciate your helpful input the above sounds more relevant to my weekend than finding my pussy.

as mentioned previously don't forget...

Le Singe Est Dans L'arbre

Extra brownie points everytime you mention that one.

- Have you got enough stella for me and my mates?

- Do you have a head gasket for my TVR in your kitchen?

Eviter la tente, froggy - Stay away from the tent, froggy

- Would you mind if I took a dump in your field?

- Yes, we all like to stop and piss by the side of the road. It's the beer you see.

- Next year, we'll be letting off the fireworks in YOUR barn.

- If I give you 10 euros and a case of stella, will you let me go officer?

- So how does it feel to lose to Audi once again?
