Anyone interested in a meeting at the pig & butcher pub in five ash down.

car park is small but its a village and parking on the road is what everyone does!
If i get enough people wanting to do this then it may become a monthly event

Would be great as the is a pool table too ;-)

Great I need a few more just to be certain.

If it does take place then it will be at the end of April around 12.30 on a Sunday.

Will this time suit people?
Also if it goes ahead I will create a new thread with the date and all the details

need more interest so keep em coming

Jack, give it a bit of time mate not everyone is on here all the time.

Also if it helps, give out a bit more info;

for example you say the car park is a bit small...how many cars can it hold?
will the pub section off an area for you?
what cars are already coming down, are the roads in the area fun to drive down on?
start time, finish time, what sort of food is on offer and (apart from the obvious draw of the pool table) what other reason would you have for holding a meet there as opposed to somewhere else? are the bar staff worth travelling miles for? wink

otherwise people will just see a meet at a pub and wonder why they would go there.

car aprk can hold 10 cars tops but you can park next to the road on the opposite side as there is a bus stop on the other.
Only jezz so far and the roads are good for speeding and there is a few country lanes.
food i will have a look and im not sure of the date, i will sort it out once i know if any1 wants to do it.

nothing special other than its a pub for socialising.

cheers for that harsh :-)

Agreed! Bells is a far better venue...why would you organise a rival meet? People already go to the bells!? Turnout was fantastic! Pub you have mentioned is tiny and strikes me as 'villagers only'

Jack,

Thanks for the reply,

in answer to that, it just seems like the pub is too small...
A car meet with space for only 10 cars is unlikely to appeal.

Plus if there'a a nearby meet that is established then why not just go to that.
Organising these things is a lot of hard work and takes time to get going.

I know you're new to this site and your enthusiasm for getting things going is a good thing but maybe it's worth taking some time to see how things are generally done and just pitch in and help someone who is already doing this sort of thing in your area.

That way you can see how much effort is involved and what makes a decent meet.
Best of luck

I'm fairly local but unlikely I'd be a regular attendee with Goodwood/5 Bells and PH events along with trying to get to Brands regularly keeps my weekends fairly busy!

I would also think that some of the owners of more exotic cars wouldn't be too keen on parking on the street.

If you're keen on organising something how about looking for a week night venue that would be suitable, along the lines of the Ace Cafe Monday night(?) meets?
