New Rear Tyre Time - A Few Questions
Discussion
Well it's time for new rear tyres again. Did have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric's this time, and they've lasted pretty well. I've managed to get about 18k out of them.
Can someone confirm to me that the OEM load and speed ratings for the E46 M3 are 93Y front, and 96Y rear?
I've narrowed my choice of replacement tyres down to the newest 3 premium choices on the market at the moment. Does anyone know which of these would be best? I'll probably swing towards the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's if I can get hold of some, as I've still got the first generation version of this tyre on the front wheels. I've used Continental's in the past and been more than happy with them, but the new Michelin sounds as if it's going to be something really special.
What would you have out of this lot then:
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 - 275/30 R19 96Y XL
Michelin Pilot Super Sport - 275/30 ZR19 96Y XL
Continental Sport Contact 5P - 275/30 ZR19 96Y XL
Can someone confirm to me that the OEM load and speed ratings for the E46 M3 are 93Y front, and 96Y rear?

I'd be happy enough with any of the above. Can someone confirm to me that the OEM load and speed ratings for the E46 M3 are 93Y front, and 96Y rear?

ETA - I have tried them all at some stage. Couldn't choose between them although have always had a bias for the Goodyear because I like the name. Pretty good on wet trackdays too. We've often been the fastest car out there in the wet.

Hold on, you've tried both the Super Sport and F1 Asymmetric 2 already? That's impressive if you've not misread as the F1A2 has only just got to market.ETA - I have tried them all at some stage. Even better than pilot sport 3's?
Much, the PS3 replaced the Pilot Exalto. You can read about the Pilot Super Sport launch hereAs for the OP's question, if you speak good russian (or google translate) this might help:

I'm in the process of summarising it now, but unsurprisingly the pilot super sport was the sportiest in the dry, but worst in the wet.
Having driven on the F1 A2 back to back with the 5P I'm confident it would have won the test, as on an A7 at least, it's the better tyre.
