2003/04 CLK 55 AMG ....good idea?

Morning all .....I need a new run around .....and have always been a fan of the big engine mercs (had a CL500 for a while that I loved) ......have beeen looking around and the 2003/04 clk55s seem to be bang in my price range.
all the ones I have found so far seem to have between 45-60k miles on them .....does anyone here have any info advice on ownership and/or what to look for on purchase?
I realise that this era is just pre-facelift, does anyone know what the significant changes were on the facelift?

I tried to find a 2004+ facelift CLK55 AMG and gave up, seem to be rarer than rocking horse ......

The facelift has the newer interior, widescreen Nav and the quad exhausts instead of he one sided double. Good luck finding one though as I couldnt!

Ended up with a C55 AMG, same engine but with the facelift. Still very rare but you will find 1 or 2 for sale!
