Do I need to get it checked out?

See photos above - I think it is below the gearbox? It is a big grey thing that has LSD written on it.

There seems to be a little oil around the bottom of it. Not an extensive amount and it is not dripping everywhere, but there is some whilst the rest of the area is dry.

Is this normal? Or do I need to get it checked out?

Hi Hoyin , its not normal to get oil out of the gearbox !! could it be coming from anywhere else ? ie breather tank from engine ? Tux

If its not wet above the driveshaft, looks like the driveshaft oil seal to me. Not too big a job.

Sure its not coolant leaking from the 4 way connector over the top of the gearbox and running down the gearbox, anti-freeze can look oily.

Can you check to see if it is actually oil, it looks greasy but that can easily be a mixture of coolant and grime.
If it does turn out to be an oil leak then check the oil return pipes from the turbos it might just need to clips tightening as a temporary measure, these pipes go very squashy and soft over time.

lol btw, the title of the thread should have read "do you think i should get my nob checked out?" then we could have had a look at the pictures and commented on whether you needed to go and see a specialist
