F10/11 M Sport - 18 inch or 19 wheel.
Discussion
I am in the process of speccing 530d M Sport touring and firn between 19 inch wheels for looks, and 18 wheels for comfort. I have driven car on 18s but not the bigger wheels. Has anybody got them on a F10/11? Is the ride good?
BTW my car will not have the dynamic ride.
Thanks
Mark
Edited to add : just done a further search and turned up a near identical thread - sorry - but any new feedback appreciated. And are the 19 inch tyres run flat like the 18s.
Thanks

What's the full spec, colours etc (if you don't mind)?? I'm a few months behind you!
530d M Sport touringSophisto grey xirallic
Black Dakota with special order piano black trim and aluminium highlights
Sports auto
Visibility package
Business media package
Business speakers upgrade
Heated electric memory seats
Adaptive drive
Electric tow bar
19 wheels
Privacy glass
Black rails
Gloss shadow line
Skint!
I have been driving a 520d F11 for the last week with no adaptive drive and it feels great.
Heated electric memory seats?
I would just go heated.
I also think the 18" wheels look better on the tourings I have seen.
The 20" grey wheel does however look cool, but think you would need the adaptive drive again.
Is the ambient lighting package standard on a 530d?
This is a must for me, makes the cabin feel really special at night.

Memory seats are £920 and I find them a complete pain, takes ages to adjust them when you get in, far easier to get in, lift the lever and slide it back to my position.
Heated seats are standard and that would be good enough for me.
Prof nav is only £350 more and offers so much more.
6NR to integrate smartphones and ipods etc. is only £130 and will transform media in cars I think.
Will be some exciting stuff with happening with that options.
Your Piano Black trim is £815, I would order the black wood and save £515, both look great on an all black car.
Obviously options are all personal, but you have £3000 worth of options that I don't personally feel add anything. Have you driven a car with adaptive drive and then one without??

I'd second the thoughts on Pro Nav vs Business Nav. I have electric seats and think they're great. If you have two regular drivers that don't just adjust the fore and aft adjustmnent, then electric memory is much better. It also sorts the mirrors and steering wheel.
Good previous point on the trim - the dark anthracite feels even more high end than Piano black IMO
19's look better - but I'm biased.

I have the comfort seats and nappa leather on my F10 a lovely way to spend 2.5k! highly recommended.
I have 19" with VDC and it rides very well but it's an SE not sport, I would agree on the pro nav vs the business nav.
I have the anthracite wood, but it's brown in hue so I would stick to the individual piano black.
Oh and the standard audio is pants, the business not much better, so go with the pro audio.

I had a look at an F11 with Piano black trim, it had only done 2-3k miles, but the finish was v scratched over the center console from either someone wearing cufflinks or some very harsh hoovering - made me go for the alu trim.
But from what I have been told, the ride & handling is better with 18'rims, just will look slightly pants!
Picking up an F11 530d in May
ps many thanks re the above - I have option 6NF but not 6NR - doesn't appear to be the same thing, so adding!

19s were a world of pain in my Alpina.
My driving life consisted of swerving to avoid potholes, or facing repairs when I couldn't avoid hitting one.
Conversely, the 18s I had on the car before went three years without damage.
I'd never, ever have big wheels for a car driven on UK roads again, even if they do look good.
Looking good doesn't come into it when you're stuck at the side of the road with a dented wheel that won't hold the puncture repair mousse.

Many thanks - I had 19s on my 535d and spent a lot of time doing slalom to avoid holes - 18s seem sensible & £1,200 cheaper! My driving life consisted of swerving to avoid potholes, or facing repairs when I couldn't avoid hitting one.
