Fuel hoses - numpty question

OK so the fuel hoses in the engine bay have those wonderful compression connectors on the bulkhead supply & return pipes and on the fuel rail input.

So why do they fit jubilee clips on the other ends i.e. at the fuel cooler and pressure regulator???

Surely if a secure connection is required on a pipe, it applies at both ends?

Or am i just being thick.

The reason I ask is that I'm really struggling to source locally some pipes with connectors.

Tried Pirtek, but they can't supply fuel hose, and I don't like the idea of re-using the old connectors on a new pipe as already suggested to me.

Without sounding like I am trying to cut corners (I am not, as the prize is life here), but can I not just use fuel pipe clamps on the bulkhead connectors?

The place I got my new hose simply "harvested" the fitting from the old hose and fitted it to the new one.

Mine were renewed using the old fittings, I think it's quite normal.

I had mine done by Pirtek last week, they re used the old connectors (but with new crimps). The only problem was that they could only do a cotton covered line type but it meets all the specs and i have it covered with thermal sleeve anyway.
