there is a list of shows, events and meet ups in the north west here-

the next two is a supercar/gt meet at Preston and a mid week event in Ashley where all are welcome. Keep an eye on that thread as it will get updated by various people as and when nescessary. The Ashley meet, organised by caz_manc is going to be monthly.
