Oil fueled Rayburn lighting

Im having trouble relighting an oil fueled rayburn. I turn on the oil supply tap push down the click lever on the regulator, then lite the burner, but it dosnt seem to be burning correctly and an orange flames is coming up through the centre of the burner instead of a nice blue flame around the burner, any ideas as it was working fine till I turned it off last month?
