Very 'cheap' fuel in Cheltenham

I have just filled up with diesel in Cheltenham. More specifically at the Sainsbury's site next to the Bentley dealership.

Diesel £1.29.9
Unleaded 95 £1.26.9

Is this a loss leader or are other petrol stations taking us to the cleaners with high margins? I was under the impression that profit on fuel for the retailer was around £0.02 per litre or am I out of touch?

That's a "good" price in the current market for diseasel! It always seems to be more expensive round there parts (Cumbria) due to everyone being farmers - currently commanding a 7p premium over 95RON.

Waitrose is usually the cheapest in Cheltenham.
