Cretin in black T reg golf on M3 northbound near Eastleigh

As per the title. Last night, on the M3 Northbound, near Eastleigh, cretin in a MKIV golf with aftermarket Xenons decided he didn't need to join the (jammed to a standstill) motorway, from the slip road. No, he decided to blat up the hard shoulder flat out. Right up until he happened across a genuinely broken down BMW in his way. Then he decided to try and squeeze through the gap between the broken down car, and the stationary traffic, then carry on charging up the hard shoulder. If anyone thinks they know this creature, please go and kick him in the nuts, on behalf of everyone he endangered, with his ish piece of driving.

Maybe he had (at least in his mind) a reason for such driving - wife about the give birth, Dad on death-bed etc? What would you do in such circumstances?

Many years ago, my [then] 3 year old received a very nasty scald / burn which clearly required treatment at A & E.

I took the decision to get him to hospital myself rather than wait for an ambulance.

Had I met a traffic queue on the motorway, I would have immediately taken to using the hard shoulder - absolutely no question about it.

I wouldn't have been driving at the speed he was, and I would have had my hazards on. If anyone else had had to dive onto the shoulder, like the BMW did when his engine let go, in the queue, they wouldn't have seen the accident coming. He was some spotty faced little turd, with a wonky baseball cap. I really doubt he had any, even remotely valid reason for doing it.

Chances are you're right. Did you take the licence plate number and report it? Other drivers may have done, and if a couple of people called it in then he's in a lot of trouble.

Although I understand why they would need to get to the hospital ASAP, if they can't control themselves when they're under stress should they really be on the road???

I didn't get the whole reg, I'm pretty sure someone further up the line would have had a better opportunity, when he had to pass the Beemer. I do hope he gets a knock on his door.

With that sort of driving I would say that either the driver was late getting his girlfriend back for her homework or perhaps it had actually been stolen.

The most memorable and similar event I witnessed, was at the junction of the M25 (ACW) and the A3 Southbound, whilst patiently queuing in the outside lane for the roundabout...

BMW 5 series N/S wheels on edge of the road and O/S wheels on the mud and grass doing about 30mph... the driver was being bounced up and down so vigorously, his head was almost hitting the car roof!
