You know the problem after owning a shirt a while but still perfectly usable however under the arm material goes hard and possibly yellow due to deodrant.

So question is what can be done to firstly get rid of it and secondly how to stop it happening going forwards?
I also find that with shirts with the hard underarm after a warm day you can smell the usual however on a shirt without said hard underarm there is no smell.

I often wear a cheap and cheerful 100% cotton plain white t-shirt under mine, saves this happening and actually keeps you fresher and cooler on a warm day.

Do you tumble dry your shirts? This will probably make it worse and impossible to remove.

With regards to stopping it happening try switching to an Alum crystal deodorant.

Increase the wash temperature? It sounds like the shirt's not being washed properly.

TBH, it's just something I heard the other day, so I don't know.

Try those crystal deodorant sticks in the future (read the label as too many mongs don't know how to use them correctly) or wear a t-shirt underneath.

I've heard that a solution of white vinegar and baking soda rubbed into the fabric does the trick. Can't confirm if it works though, I'm far too lazy to try it out, when there are plenty of perfectly good shirt shops down the road!

it is the salt crystals forming together with some other bits. Totaly natural.

THE BEST WAY to get rid of this is to sit in front of the TV and chew the armpit of the shirt, the enzymes in your saliva will break down the salt far quicker than any off the shelf product. It may take 2-3hours of masticating to fully clear.

Try it tonight and let us all know how you get on.

Washed at 40 degrees.
Always dried on washing line or on a hanger.
