Hiscox or Halifax. I wouldn't insure with anyone else. Both superb cover and service when you need it

Whoever you choose, make sure you go through Quidco first to get your cashback!! My S-I-L in a rented flat, who only needs contents, gets it virtually for free annually based on the cashback

Have a look at the cashback rates on Topcashback too, they're often higher than Quidco (eg Aviva £65.65 v £45 on Quidco) and no annual £5 fee

Rather than get distracted by offers, I want a good service.

I have been with MoreThan for the last few years.

I have had occassion to make 2 claims in the last couple of years and a couple some years before then. Each time the service has been first rate. Not huge claims, but one related to an expensive item and they really made me feel like I was their only customer.

You want insurance that does the job when you need it.

I was with Elephant, but after claiming for the first time they almost doubled my premium, so I bailed.

Basically, Hiscox. I won't insure with anyone else. They might not be the cheapest but as above, the fundamental issue is when you need to claim, what do they do!?! Hiscox are frankly superb.

I used to think that about Hiscox and was with them, and their inflated premiums, for about 10 years.

Then I had to make a claimwhistle
