I have had these fitted in the last month, no remap needed and I got the decat done at the same time the result was an instant increase in low and mid range torque, you don't need a rolling road print out to see it you can feel it every time the loud peddle hits the floor and the noise is to die for. Absolutely fabulous!!!!
By the way I use a TVR power chip developed and optimised for the short induction system so not the original, speak to Dom, it is available for a lot less than a rolling road session.

There are gains, how big I wouldn't like to say as already said as part of bigger package they make sense, how much of my 450 ponies are they worth, probably no more than 10 but more importantly probably 15-20 torques, but only as part of the bigger package.
Each bank are matched lengths, 4-2-1 like any decent 4 pot tuning manual would tell you, anyone that tells you different is being disingenuous at best. Are they worth fitting and scraping perfectly good 4.5 manifolds for, I'm not sure. If your manifolds need replacing, would I buy OEM or these, these every time, madness not to.

surely its worth getting car double checked on rolling road or actively set up.It is always good to check your fueling and air etc are good all the way up the range.Seriously i have been here before and yes the car did go like stink for many months,but on a hot sunny morning on my way to a track day bang-say no more.Believe me on engines that are in this state of tune it dont take much to detonate em,we all know how our cerbs like to bang and pop at the best of times so please get em mapped
Before you fit them it might be worth thinking about getting them ceramic coated. I have them and they sometimes glow red and put a lot of heat into the engine bay. I am actually thinking of taking mine to get them coated.

I wouldn't reccomend the ACT pipes due to the flange joints on them, held by two bolts and the leak gas at the sides. Not good on a FG bodied car.
Zircotec and Cam coat do Ceramic coating.
Zicotec is Plasma sprayed and will survive a lot better but is about £1000 all in for a pair.
Camcoat is thermal paint and not as robust but 1/3 the price. I had mine done in this and it does an adequate job and would reccomend this over wrapping.

Had my Speed6 manifolds done at Camcoat - one pair Matt Black, another pair CermaChrome and really pleased with the results. I notice Camcoat do about a dozen colours now, so you can even try to match to ur car colour maybe ??
As ur ACT manifolds are new, you can additionally have them coated inside and outside, to give even better thermal protection to the engine bay.
No problems with the Matt Black ones after 10,000 miles (not fitted the Cermachrome ones - waiting for a Sagaris....)

As regards the benefits of your new ACT manifolds, I was always led to believe power and torque improve with improved engine breathing, so equal length, purposely designed manifolds must be an improvement over standard. What I don't understand is why a company like TVR producing highly tuned supercars didn't do this in the first place !!

Yeah, I noticed them glowing on fast idle when it was fairly dark in the garage! I guess they will glow when you are on the throttle and on the move as there is not a lot of airflow around them.Last year when my car was idling for ages while having its MOT the expansion bottle popped due to the heat from the manifolds making the plastic soft and allowing a simple cable tie to pierce the bottom of the bottle!!

To get the manifolds out your mechanic will need to remove the water rails, and un bolt the engine from it's mounts. The engine will then move from side to side to allow better access to get to the manifold bolts, if he does nt do this , I guess he will have to chop them. this would be such a waste as multipart arnt stocking them any more.
I only need a near side manifold , I've bought an off side one off fatjon for £50. But it's up to you how much you want for yours
