Pilot Exalto 2 Tyres

I was at Costco a couple of weeks ago getting tyres for my Civic daily driver and took the opportunity to ask about tyres for my Minari kit car.
I've got 14" wheels for it (tyre size 185/60/14) and the PE2 is one of the tyres that comes up in that size, so I asked for a price. They're very expensive for 14's but these days, Costco advertise that they will order any tyre available from Michelin UK, so I thought I'd ask.
I was disappointed when the guy told me that they don't make them any more - according to him, the only tyre Mich do in my size is the Energy Saver
I asked him when they stopped making them and he said it was around 6 years ago!! This doesn't quite ring true for me because lots of the online suppliers still seem to stock them. (I appreciate online suppliers could well have old stock ... but 6 years??)
So, the question is whether any good PHers happen to be in the know on this one? Like I said, reasonable availability online and they are still listed on Michelin's website - was the Costco guy just fobbing me off because it was 5.00 on Saturday and he wanted to go home?

Love my PE2's on my MX5, which gets used for everyday duties and trackdays. Bought a pair of 15's about 3 weeks ago and believe it or not the cheapest place was ordering online with Kwik Fit. They were cheaper than MyTyres, Blackcircles et al, or getting them delivered by Camskill and getting my local inde to fit.
I don't know about 14's, but I do know they are alot more expensive than 15's.

Yes, that's the one - I did note that they're still listed on the website in my OP! Just coz they're still listed on there, doesn't necessarily mean they still make 'em.JQ said:

I did wonder how they'd work out on a lighter car. It would be a bit of a punt to spend ~£100 a corner (when everything else is <£60!) only to find they don't work that well!(Kwik Fit can be quite surprising if you catch them with a good offer. I guess they managed not to mangle your wheels ... )
