What a daft question; it would be entirely down to how well the hood was fitted. You might as well ask "Do wheels cause vibration at speed?"

To a greater or lesser extent yes. It just depends on how well the hood was fitted.

This is an important question as I am seriously considering buying one to use as a (semi) daily driver

therefore I need to know if there is an inherent fault in the design of the roof that means that the car will fill up with water in a summer shower and therefore no good as a practical car here in wet Scotland
or its really fine as long as it is installed properly you can drive it through a monsoon and you wont get wet

It looks as if the former is correct

So I should look at coupes instead ....

But do the sunroofs leak ?

I had a coupe for 2 years as a daily driver. The sunroof never leaked smile Squeaked a bit, but never leaked.

Nice cars, but I wouldn't have one as a daily driver anymore - the car is no longer made, the bits are harder to come by (body parts that is), the clubs that supported them (TeamGTM) seems to have fallen on a sword to some extent...

Loved mine though and sometimes wish I still had it!

My GTM spyder dood has never leaked since I fitted the hood even in a torrential downpoor at Motorway speeds, I did fit some additional seals to those provided in the kit to achieve this.

A bit late i know but i thouhgt i would chip in.

My spider which i sold a year or so back was mostly water tight. I wouldnt point the hose at the seals, but it lived outside in all weathers including the snow. The join by the windscreen/roof/side window dribled sometimes which was annoying as it went on your knee.

I used mine as an every day car, and did thousands of miles. The boot on the spyder is really anooying, you cant get into it with out using your finger nails, and you might as well forget it if its wet as you wont get it open, but the boot is tiny and there is a fair amount of space behind the seats.
