I'm a big fan of liquorice... particularly the Dutch ones, called Salmiak, which contain ammonium chloride (seriously!) and are VERY strong! Very popular in the Scandinavian countries too.
Anyway, today I received my latest order, which included a couple of varieties I hadn't tried before.

The Cherry and Chilli liquorice is relatively mild, as you chew you get a liquorice flavour which becomes a cherry-liquorice blend. Then a gentle hit of chilli which gets warmer as you go. Not too strong, but nice.
The Swedish Salty Liquorice Fish I absoloutely love. But most people, and even many hardened liquorice fans, would probably spit them out! They are strong liquorice dipped in pure salmiak powder and are INCREDIBLY strong and bitter to start with, but they slowly mellow as you chew, once the outer coating is gone. Definitely not for the faint-hearted!
Should be an interesting day tomorrow... will be trying them out on my work colleagues
