Got it open!! Basd solenoid! That's the second one I've had let go in 4 drives! And I need the car tomorrow, off to Maplin in the morning! Good thing I have an understanding Manager!
Make sure your release switch isn't sticking. If you close the boot with the solenoid activated it will just burn out very quickly. ( spoken from experience). £7 a throw from maplins isn't too bad but the faff starts to get on your nerves very quickly
I think the dash ahs shifted slightly which burnt out the new one. Typical as today is the only day I need the car with a working boot and I'm on a tight schedule. Off for a new solenoid, bit of cable and bullet connectors now. Grrr...
