E60 535d where did you go next?
Discussion
Personally I don't really think there is much better out there to compete with the all-round ability of the 535d.
I've got a new f11 520d se auto which I personally think is the most comfortable car I have ever owned ( it has vdc ) but If there wasn't a 10k+ gap i would of loved to have another 535d instead.
Mind you, I have just managed 42 mpg all on back roads on my first tank full in the 520d, so it's a lot better on fue than my previous 535and 335d

I've got a 535d Msport Touring (LCI) which is a compitent, reliable, comfortable and reasonably quick. in fact a great all rounder, but I still hanker for more fun daily drive.
What have other E60 535d owners gone onto that was a better daily drive?
I went from a LCI 535d to a new e70 x5 3.0d with 10K of extras on it.What have other E60 535d owners gone onto that was a better daily drive?
The X5 was superb, loved it to bits, but the fuel economy of it (28mpg) and a change in job roles for me meant i ended up pumping 500 pounds of diesel through it in a month.
It still had some serious grunt (i'd mine remapped to 280BHP) and what it lost in outright handling it gained in other areas.
Ultimately, i sold it because of the running costs, and bought.... another 535d (used one this time) which if you include the reduced finance payments and reduced fuelling cost me around 400 a month less.

I bought a 535d late 2004, literally as soon as they came out. DMS remap within a month. Was totally bored of diesel power delivery and sold it (and took a massive depreciation bath) 10 months later, and bought a nice low key B5 Audi RS4 in Nogaro blue instead :-)
Yeah don't need the space a keep thinking 997C2S, 996 turbo, RS4 Avant, Boxster Spyder, XKR, V8 Vantage....I've gone from a 535D to a 997 C2S
Not as much room, but that wasn't really a consideration
If you need any persuasion.......
