Morning,

Would you recommend the above afternoon/evening session for a complete novice at track days, i just never seem to be able to make the novice days and have managed to secure some time off for Monday afternoon, will i be well out of my depth and probably be a complete pain in the arse or should i just grow a pair and get on with it.

My weapon of choice is a Super 7 in 2 litre Zetec variety, i am a confident driver but not a clue on Track day etiquette or formats, i guess most people at such events are really friendly and accomodating but should i really try and aim for a specific 'Novice' day?

Hi - should be a good evening. Im going and i think there will be a lot of 7s, as it was originally promoted via Blatchat and ONBS motorsport. Don't worry about track etiquette, listen to the drivers briefing and follow the others. Its a new track to most so should wont be many straight on the pace

Hope its good weather!

Will also be there in a Caterham and as Richard says there should be over 20 Cats there. A number of us have tried the new layout and its very Cat friendly. If it's your first time I would recommend booking a MSV instructor early on, you will find that will help you settle in quicker.

Crazybull, You would be very welcome to join us on Monday. As has been said I run an OBNS n Friends evening each year through MSV for customers and friends. Note that MSV are the organisers not me!

The link to the MSV on line booking page is here http://www.clubmsv.com/car-home.aspx

There is a maximum of 35 cars on the evening mostly caterhams, a couple of westies and just one or two other makes. Currently there are only a handful of places remaining. There will be a number of other novices there on the evening so there is no need to worry about being out of place. If this is your first time on track reading this may be of use. http://obns.co.uk/7.html

Do book some instruction as track driving is very different to driving on the road. Its a skill that can be learnt. Instruction costs £25 for 20 mins one to one and will be the best upgrade that you will buy. Ive been doing this sort of thing for 25+ years and I bought a session the first time that I went out on the new track.
The new 300 layout if simply fantastic by the way!

I Hope to see you on Monday
Kind regards

Excellent. See you there. Be sure to get signed on and your car noise tested in plenty of time. You won't then be in a rush.

Does anyone know who was doing the photography for this event?

Was a good evening, by the way, with excellent track etiquette from everyone, and a nice clear track at times!

Great evening - the green RS was mighty quick. I dont think there was anyone going slow!

Loved the new section, made it interesting, very hard to slow down for the hair pin that used to take you on to the back straight. After a few laps I got over it!

All good fun, shame it was over so quick. Will be back for the royal wedding event

I've added a link to my photobucket album in the EA thread - anyone wanting higher res copies message me with the picture ref - later shots suffered from lack of light with a long lens

Hi CB, I was going to say hi but I got confused with what Yellow/Green 7 you were in. Glad you had a good time.

Dan, Lovely looking car that RS. I was with the gaggle of Caterhams/Exige that had a good bit of fun circulating with you mid evening.

Mark. Dark Green/White 7.

Thanks Mark. Was having fun trying to cut my way through the pack!! The RS has the edge on power down the straights for sure! Always enjoy the OBNS evening's!
