As my 10 years old Seiko Kinetic have stopped working, been shaking it for while and it only going for about 10 seconds and then stopped.

Think it will need new capacitor, any good repair place recommended ?

Hi there,

It will be something like 5M63-****

Price to sort movement and pressure test would be £45 shipped.

Do you really need a movement? Just a new capacitor rechargeable battery should suffice surely?

Yer but to get movement holding charge so replacing and fitting new battery again plus pressure testing would be £40 plus £5 postage.

Excellent the Seiko 5M63 movement is well worth fixing as it's a good movement.

I think I saw on TZ that Bry isn't taking on any work at the moment.
Probably worth trying somewhere else.

I have to say I've bought two Seikos (Gents diver and a ladies diver-styled watch) after looking at threads here and really wish I hadn't. Both have been nothing but trouble. Am I just unlucky or are they not that reliable?

You're unlucky. I've had 5+ Seikos of varying styles, prices etc. and had no problems with them.
