I have a 2001 tuscan and when i hit the switch under the mirror, the door lock opens but the windon doesnt drop. when you hit the switch there is a pause that you usualy get as the window goes down, then door opens. i get the pause but window doesnt go down. Please could anyone tell me what the problem is. is ther a switch or motor that drops the window and a seperate switch or motor that open the door or is it all same switch? any help would be great. thank you.

Could be the encoder, same symptoms as mine. Easy enough to change, unless the allen screws in the door pocket are rusted in smash
If one side works, take both door cards off & swap the encoders to see if the fault is cured.

Probably the encoder is at fault as it can get quite damp in there, but before you strip everything down to clean, dry and replace! Just double check that the fuse is ok or not loose, I had the same problem but tracked it down to the fuse not sitting correctly in the fuse board! smile

Its worth adding that if you can make your encoder work or if you get a new one, you should coat it in electronics potting compound which will seal it and prevent future water ingress

test the the ecu behind the ashtray before getting youre doorcard off
yust swap left and right
if it doesn't help then swap the window encoder (it's very small and on youre window motor) from left to right.
if it's the encoder you at least can drive youre car untill you have a replacement
