Guys - has anyone had this? After using the windscreen/headlight spray one of my washer jets does not fully retract back into place. This is the second time it has happened on the same side. Already replaced once and now it is happening again.

Funnily enough, used my washers on Weds night, and realised yday that the rhs headlamp washer seemed to be hanging out a little... but probably only 5mm or so - didnt have a good look as was in a rush - but will check this weekend

Probably the washer jet again. They don't like being used at higher speed (not that you can stop it) as it causes stress on the system. Worse case is that it's broken one of the washer jet mounts as that usually leads to a new headlamp.

Given the fact that it seems to be a known fault, should the replacement be covered by the AM extended warranty? As this is the second time in the space of a few months I will be pushing for that. And funny you should mention, both times was after using the washer system at motorway speeds. I'll remember to drop onto the hard shoulder next time before I use it!

Exactly what happened with mine both times. Looked at the car after parking and both hanging out just a little bit. Use the headlight washer again and the driver's side one now retracts fully but passenger side has a good 0.5cm gap now.

Folks, I have the same issue on my V8V. Sometimes my right washes jet does not retract fully. Sometime it does. Also I can push it in manually. Is it an easy fix, or do I have to replace the headlight?

Cheers, J

Most probably the washer jet only. Mine needed two new ones in quick succesion. Seems they dont like being used at motorway speeds and can get "knocked" out of line. End result is a washer jet or jets that dont fully retract. They are rather expensive but just a Jaguar part so might be cheaper direct from Jag?
