MPG

my pug 306 cabriolet is only getting about 180-220 miles from a tank of fuel, any ideas as to why its going so quickly??

Coilpack, lamnda sensor and spark plugs are what i'd check first.

I'd check the position and angle of the right foot before that.

i have no idea what any of those are but i have serviced it (that i can do), i did read somewhere it could be corroded fuse lines?

You know how to service your own car but you don't know what a sparkplug is and think your poor MPG is due to fuel leaking out of rusted fuel lines?

How are you driving it?

Is it town or motorway?

bit of both, i've been driviing it quite nicely tbh but anything over 1/4 of a tank goes very quickly where as 1/4 and under seems normal

thats what i read, i'm not a mechanic ben but its fairly obvious i know what a spark plug is as i serviced it

Sorry, that was a pretty ignorant post from me...I hate it when people say it and did it myself. Apologies.

FYI A coilpack is what some cars use instead of a distributor to control ignition...others use individual coils per cylinder - I don't know what your car has.

A lambda sensor is also known as an oxygen sensor and reads the level of oxygen in your exhaust - obviously if it goes wrong it can cock up the fuelling and affect mpg.

You'd probably know if you were losing fuel from corroded lines - the car would stink of it.
