Hi all,

My water pump has started to leak, although only very slightly!

I assume it's my internal water seal.

Is there a difference between them or is it just a normal rover v8 part??

Cheers!

I had to replace the water pump on the SEAC, got a replacement fron Tvr power, had to pm them a pic to get the correct fitting.
Works a treat but proberly not the cheapest.
Good luck looking for a pump....

I replaced the pump on my 400 5 years ago, and sourced it from RPI, who were very helpful. Described as: Water pump SD1 V8 EFI Vitesse. From memory the only downside was that the supplied gasket was very thin, and I managed to mangle it first time. They sent me another much better one straight away. Just be very careful when removing the bolts. One of mine sheared, although fortunately it was at the top, and quite a short one. Some are very long. I've probably still got the old one if you need a picture for comparison.

Matt - I got mine at a very good price from land rover spares place
called famous four.

http://www.famousfour.co.uk/new_parts/

I'll take a look for the part number later if you need it.

I just matcj mine with their picture.

Think it's classic range rover 3.5

Odd, the Rangey pump usually has the outlets at different angles to the SD1 variant.

K-seal. It has worked quite well on mine surviving getting hot in traffic and a trackday, although I'm still aware I'm going to need to replace it at somepoint.

Perhaps it was something told you you to justify a higher priced component !

They looked different in the V8 parts catalogue I had - might have been Rimmers.

ETA: here you go, how many different part numbers would you like? wink

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID009109

ETA: Matt-man, with care you could strip and rebuild the old one, usually just needs a press to get the driving flange off and on the shaft. Bearings and seals should be cheap enough...

There are different rangey ones with varying inlets/outlets and lenght of "snout" before the pulley. So some might not fit.

Rev could you post up the invoice part number from Famous Four? And yes, FF are very good value.

I got my last one off ebay but they are quite rare in new condition, except for >120 quid.
