I've decided for my next car (next 6 months or so) I want something discrete that does'nt stand out from the crowd, getting unwanted attention from scrotes when parked up, people wanting a 'race' everyday etc but with a decent amount of poke under the bonnet or atleast more than I have now.

At the moment I'm really liking the look of ST170's (seem to go for circa 3.5/5k), how much would I be looking at to supercharge one with all the needed extra's, brakes, suspension, diff etc etc.

I know I could get a good RS for less than this would cost me but I'm really not wanting something that's attractive (to any owner's of ST's, I'm not saying there not attractive) to undesirable's and am willing to pay the extra to be left alone as it were and quite like the idea of abit of a sleeper.

5k, 10k, more ?

I'm just throwing round idea's at the moment so I may well change my mind but a vague idea would be very much appreciated.

Probably better heading over to ffoc as I remember somebody doing it on there. Would be a great sleeper as you say.

You best bet is to check out the ST170 owners club. Sure some have done it as its similar to the US version ST170 called Focus SVT. There is a kit for this a few years ago think it was £1500, not sure how much it is now.
dont understand how you say an ST170 is more than a Focus RS, its the opposite.

I'll head over to the owner's club.

Ref the cost, more than an RS as in total build cost, initial outlay on the car plus supercharger, suspension, brake's, well you get the picture.

IIRC a turbo kit can be purchased for the ST170.

I don't think a supercharger would be advisable, as they take a fair amount of engine power (and its just a 2ltr). A turbo would be better (although subject to more lag).

£2.5k for a supercharger kit
£1k decent exhaust?
£2-3k brake and suspension setup, quaife (do they have them already?)
£xxx labour
Internals
Extra insurance cost

Just get an RS, an ST will never handle like an RS wink
