Hi there,

I've applied for an apprenticeship with an offshore company and i need a little help in the right direction.

I've been initially accepted and need to do an aptitude test Which I'm really nervous about as I recently done one and failed frown. It has really knocked my confidence and I'm desperate to get an apprenticeship as I don't want to be stuck in a contact centre the rest of my life. The apptitude test is a huge hurdle for me which I can't seem to get over. Im not a complete idiot, I'm actually doing a HNC just now but, I just need to be prepared this time.

I seem to struggle with mechanical comprehension.

I know that SHL are the ones that supply the tests and the website is pretty useless. It has practice tests but, none on mechanical reasoning or maths.

Could anyone help me? Thanks for your time!

Maxwell

There are loads of books filled with examples of these questions and also general advice on how to behave at assessments(that sounds a bit 'Stepford Wives', but HR people like everyone to fit into neat categorys as they are sometimes a bit thick/lazy). Get thee to a computer and Amazon will help(other interweb book vendors are available), or borrow from a library if you're broke/still have an open library. I've used this one and others by the same publisher and found them useful, but there are loads of different ones.

You can get books to help you through the SHL aptitude tests, certainly the verbal and numerical reasoning. I have them at home but can't for the life of me remember the name, they'll be up in the garage now.

Regardless, have a look on Amazon and buy some of the books. Great job.
