I recently (2 days ago), as a favour, lightly jet washed a mates decking as it was covered in green mildew etc. It came up a treat and looked like new. I wash my own large deck every year in this way and never have any issues. as long as you dont use too high pressure as this can cause the planks to splinter. I then oil the deck afterwards.

I had a call today from my mate saying that his Mrs thinks the that the planks had 'bowed'. I noticed they were slightly bowed before the wash but cant believe that a light jet wash would cause them to 'bow'.....could it?

You can make wood bow by wetting one side, but not if it's properly fixed down.

It's proper pressure treated decking planks too AND I've just realised what the date is!

They're probably made from banana tree wood.
