Hi all, looking for some advice on a new pair of headphones. I know it's been asked loads of times before, and I could do a search, but I'd like some specific opinions please.

I'm after a pair of travel in-ear headphones, that are good at isolating sound which also produce good sound reproduction. I do a bit of travelling and use them with my ipod for music and my phone for videos. I travel on trains, London tube and aeroplanes and will use them probably for every weekday. Listen to Rock, Indie, Dance and D'n'B.

I've currently got a pair of B&O A8's but they are terrible for noise isolation and find them practically useless on a tube/plane. I bought a pair of Sony MDR-EX85s as a stop-gap but have found them amazing, and ended up keeping them for 2 years...

I've decided to get something a bit better now, as the Sony's don't isolate sound enough for me now.

So, I've been looking at:
Senhnheiser CX6
Shure SE210
Klipsch S4
Etymotic ER-6

Can anyone recommend either? Do you have a pair? Do you have any other suggestions?
Budget is around £100.

Cheers

The Sony would suggest you like your bass. The ones you have listed goes from the bass heaviest to the nearly bass-less:
CX6
S4
SE210
ER-6

Reverse that order for best isolation.

Best isolation is gained from balanced armature earphones, best bass from dynamic earphones. You may want to look at some 2-way BA earphones, they have great isolation and better bass than single BA ones, but still not as good as dynamic earphones.

Have a look at the sticky up top, there are a few options.

Another pair of Sonys?

Like you, I've found them excellent. Have tried a few different brands but keep coming back to these as a solid performing, good value option. Not convinced there's a need to spend more.

Phonak Audeo PFE 112's or 012's

Not very bassy but the sound quality makes up for it! Awesome for sound isolating and very comfy.
