Florence is nice. Fly BA to Pisa & then about an hours drive. I do remember having the best steak I've ever eaten in a restaurant there

That place they went to in Romania on Top Gear? There was something about a resort on the edge of the Black Sea (??) - that has stuck with me as an idea of somewhere to go one day!

Firenze. Bella. But don't bother with a car. Walk out of the airport (Pisa) and the train station is right in front of you. Stay here - http://www.hotelbaglioni.it/index_eng.html - about 50m from the train station in Firenze.

Anyone think the following are sensible:-

Estonia
Austria (which resort though - clearly skiing is not happening then)
Cork Ireland
Riga

Last year we went to Brugee... amazing (highly expensive c£2k for 4 days and we drove).

Actually I open the ideas for Driving destinatons too. However as it is a Sat to Wed need to be sensible on time spent travelling over being there.

Or Stay-cation.....and spend the c£600 on a lovely meal and a few other bits & pieces.

Did Rome with the OH last year or so.

Packed it into 3 days. 3 very busy days as there is a LOT there to see.

Generally very impressed with it, well worth a visit. 1 day for vatican, 1 day for Collosseum and 1 day for wondering around the bit in the middle smile

Did Venice last year for a similar trip. It was very pretty but not so much to do and we struggled to find a deent resturant to eat at.

Krakow was nice again for a similar trip. Lovely center square to the city. Worth visiting Ausch-witz (sp?) and the salt mines.

Rome first though if you've not been there.

Yep thats what I thought Rome seems like a really good one to visit.

Ive been there for a works conf previously - amazing food really lovely, we managed to spend 1/2 a day walking round from the Coll to the Middle of the City.

Job Done - Rome here we go.

If using BA Miles plan to book months ahead, or use them to fly Club instead which I always do. Some destinations eg Catania in Sicily seem impossible to get via BA Miles!
