The lady and I are looking to get away for a week or so this summer, however both being students means it will have to be on a budget. Now, I don't mean a Butlins budget however it also can't really be too expensive.

I've looked on the usual holiday sites but I find it so hard to trust a websites description over somewhere somebody is actually recommending.

So does anybody have any suggestions for somewhere warm/hot, during Summer months (June, July, August) that won't cost the Earth but is also not a pit?

Thanks all

You need to define a budget. And you also need to define 'spending money' budget. You could go somewhere distant, with more expensive flights but cheaper local hotels, drink, food etc.

From another htread on here I think Sharm in Egypt is definitely worth considering.
All Inclusive holdiays are spectularly cheap (post on here found two weeks AI for £365 at a theoretically 4 star hotel)
You just cant lose at that price.

Yes. Greece is very nice.
Not sure its particularly cheap though
From my recent experiences pretty much all countries that have the Euro as a currency can not easily be done on a budget.
A meal at a bog standard eatery is similar money to decent London restaurants and doing that 7-14 times per week is pretty crippling

How about a leftfield option...? Go to Scotland or Cornwall - stay in the UK, see some fantastic scenery, save money and drive yourself, find a nice little self catering cottage to hole up in for the week.

try www.travelrepublic.co.uk as a guide

booked a 4 night lads holiday through them to magaluf(yes, i know!) for £122 including flights, hotel and transfers when we arrive

similar package through travel agents was around £250 and booking flights and hotel seperately was around £180-200ish

if you have the time to keep checking, then the holiday forums on moneysaving expert:http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28

as great deals often get posted up, aswell as online codes/vouchers that take for example 20% off your bill.
