NEED ADVICE on zetec s

ok i own a ford fiesta 1.25 its done only 34,000 miles and theres a fiesta zetec s near me for sale which has done 70,000 good condition which i can part exchange my car for.
isit worth getting rid of the 1.25 with lower mileage for a higher mileage zetec s?? are the zetec s still real reliable car from 70,000 upwards??

If it's the MK5s we are talking about here, they will both rust badly in the end. I'd stick with your car, and save up for something a bit better.

I have plenty of experience with a rusty Mk5 experience, mine only had 22,000 on the clock before it was starting to get bubbled paint on and under the arches, though it was near 10 years old at that point. A girl I work with has a Mk5 Zetec S, and surprise surprise, it's rusting away merrily. The problem is, Ford used a carpet undertray at the back of the car, fk knows why, and it collects salt and traps moisture under the arch. Couple that with non-galvanised bodies like Ford used on the old Fiestas and you've got rust central!

Not a worthy upgrade. I got fed up with looking for a MK5 Zetec-S, they all rot. Much the same with the Puma.

Yes, there is a blue Zetec S at my work, rusting quite badly now. It's a shame, as I had one a couple of years ago in blue and it didn't have a spot of rust on it. It was an awesome drive and I wish I'd kept it longer. However, they all seem to be rotting away quite badly now. Which is a shame as they were excellent cars.

My mk4 1.25 was a great little car,

Repaired a bit of rust on one of the arches, but then sold it when the petrol tank started leaking due to rusting at the edges.

yep mk 5s
want something with more power and the insurance isnt bad either
but if i have a look ill make sure i check for rust thanks guys!
