So by chance i realised the lovely people from the EDL are coming into town on saturday...

Naturally business's have been advised to close though the main part of the town is staying open interestingly...

everything's getting boarded up

even the drain grates were getting covered with tarmac

should be interesting - i'm thinking of going - joining in from the UAF side and what not - i dont think i'll be getting too close to the action - no press pass to jump the barriers!

see that was my other dilemma - dslr or hd camcorder?

or both? the camcorder is small enough to fit in some combat jeans pocket but then just in case...

video every time.
i got quite close to the action last time (youtube link on my profile) but only had my old w810i phone to record on.
another good point about the video is your getting the sounds of the action.

up them to youtube and they might even earn you some cash!

main thing is stay safe and remember to keep an eye on whats behind you when your filming.

money from youtube eh?

how so?

I was right on the forefront of the rangers riot in manchester a few years back - literally all infront of me and all i had was a crappy nokia something or another.

THAT was a HD moment to get!!

if you get enough views you can sign up for syndication and get a share of the advertising cash.
you've got to get silly amounts of views to get rich though!

so your saying i could be the next Justin Beiber?

hmmmmmm.

It was funny I had my dslr with me tonight as they were setting up the police cordon all around the town centre. putting metal portakabins everywhere.

right at the end i was just taking a pic or two of the last few kabins remaining and the police decided to ask me "which faction i was taking pictures for"

i should've said EDL in retrospect. i'm a muslim insider working for the EDL. they noted my presence down and everything.

damn pictures came out crap though - it was too dark and i wasnt going to go around faffing with a tripod.

The press generally does not have to pay for showing your video if it's newsworthy. However, with photographs they do.

yes

Also I seem to remember that news reports usually show that more UAF members than EDL are arrested at these events?

UAF are certainly as bad as the EDL... Both wind each other up, cause trouble, and blame each other after the fact.

Video of Rochdale demo taken from the UAF side - interestingly plod sees fit not to use dogs on one side but not the other...

The UAFtards do not exactly conquer the moral high ground here hehe

Some NSFW language obviously.

If the Army were policing these events with live rounds, I can't help but think the country would be abetter place.

It would be a bit redundant with the UAF lot though - their lot seem to constantly separate men from women, in mosques, legal status, etc etc

By "them" I take it you mean both the EDL and UAF?
