2009 1.8i Astra
Discussion
Well there comes a time in any young mans life where he must leave his first faithful car.
In my case she was called penelope. Dark, sleak, sexy with a compassion like no other. She saved my life once and when everyone thought she was going to the scrap yard in the sky she pulled through.
Unfortunately, and i mean unfortunatly she got old. It was time to move on.
So after a trip to North Wales (hollywell) today I found the perefect car, only white one listed on autotrader within 100 miles, however I was smitten at first sight.
I've named her Alexis and go to pick her up on Tuesday,
Iphone pics, will get more then

59 Reg with 7000 miles, one owner from new.
1.8 Sri
Cost me £10000 in total with a good part ex price £1500 for mine
Plans are nothing for a year or so, then maybe a few subtle things like lowering, leather seats etc...
Can I firstly say, Hillcrest cars in Holywell were fantastic, offered discount without asking. Took a hands off approach and talked no s
t like usual used car salesman!
What do you think?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure these have VVT and the new engine code is Z18XER. They also have gearboxes sourced from Cadburys
Pretty sure you're correct, my mum just got one of these and it does have VVT, doesnt make f
k all of a difference IMO! Also the gearbox can't be worse than her last mini!TBF it isn't the mot "Pistonheadsesqeu" car but I love it, I turn 21 this year and am uni so insurance is still a killer for me! Still 140 BHP out the box isn't too bad!
Did some quotes on the VXR nurburgring but was £3000 + and I just can't justify that
Will get some more pictures up on Tuesday. Plan is, keep it 3 years then sell up while it still has any resale value and get something quicker.

I did exactly this 3yrs ago, got rid a month ago. Nice little cars, I had the 888 derv. There won't be much left after 3yrs, so get and pay that finance off as soon as.Did some quotes on the VXR nurburgring but was £3000 + and I just can't justify that

You Need to get an xp pack on it, without they look like they are on stilts. Either get the 18' pentas or some team dynamic pro race, possibly spray them anthracite and it'll look lovely.
Might just leave it as standard to be honest, my old car owes me in the region of 3k so not wanting to part with that much cash again!
Could do with an XP pack but vauxhall want £900 + paint for it! Never been a big fan of the pro race, loads of fiestas (where I've come from) run them.
Finance wise- nothing, paid cash. My mum paid a bit towards it for my 21st
Again, all c+c welcome!

I had a Z18xe Astra G with some breathing mods, and there was nothing in it against my mate in his Astra H Z18xer mainly down to the weight

They are great cars from my own experience! I had a 57 reg 1.9CDTi 150 SRI from new (company car), 60k miles over 3 years, much abuse and the only thing that ever went wrong with it was the EGR valve needing a good clean (which I did myself), apart from that a very reliable, economical, good looking and quick car!!
Only gripes I had were crap rear visibilty and back breaking seats!
Enjoy!
