Morning all,

Looking for some cheap summer fun, budget max £1500, must be in good nick body & mechanically. Am I asking too much?

I'm in Aberdeen so if you know of anything local, please let me know.

Love it. Not had the chance to drive it yet (ive got a broken femur) but from the passenger seat it has been fantastic.

I know of a 1997 red 1.6, just mot'd and taxed to be sold privately at around your budget in mid Fife.

I've got a 2003 1.6 going on the Market soon.
Looking for a bit more that £1500 but just thought I'd add my 2p

In a word no, for that price it might not be cosmetically perfect, but concentrate on the important things - rust, solid sills and arches, and a watertight hood, as they're the expensive things to sort.

Mechanically they're fairly bulletproof, oily bits are easy/cheap to work on, I've renewed lots of parts on mine and whilst I'm fairly handy with a spanner, I have no mechanical background and only a basic selection of tools - don't be put off by high mileage if it's been looked after.

Mine is going up for sale in the next few months, but has been SORN'ed over winter so has no tax or MOT at present, when I've given it a good service and MOT I'll PM you the details in case you're still looking.

Thanks yellowbentines. Allandwf has given me 1st refusal on his and he sounds like a decent bloke (with a decent motor) so we'll see how it goes.
