Any owners on here? I realise the default choice is the M3, or the C63, but these seem good used value, and massive spec as standard...

Yes, the exhausts do look rubbish. On the plus side, they're a nice car if you're not interested in 'badge cool'.

If i had to choose a quick, small saloon, id get the IS-F. Doesnt have the "Im a 'c u next tuesday'" value of the other two (mainly the BM).
And it makes a nice sound right? And 8 gears?!?!?! At least you wont get bored.

I saw my 1st one last week(well heard it!!)

I heard something savage, looked around to see what was making that amazing sound, and it was one of these babies! I love em(even the exhausts!!)

Haven't driven one, but I was walking through a deserted street in downtown Cincinnati last year at about 2am when one came drifting bloody quickly at full tilt around a crossroads like something out of a film. I've had a semi on about them ever since.

The only super saloon aside from the Monaro of course that doesn't scare the hell out of me for running costs. When they hit sub 20k I'm in! Who needs mega German repair bills.

Agree about the rear exhausts - shame they look a bit pants and are fake.

Spec can't be sniffed at - Mark Levinson hi-fi is supposed to be a pretty decent system too (and standard).

May have to try one.

Key question is: Is a similar spec/age/mileage C63 worth £10k more as a used proposition....

I wouldn't buy the German if it was 10k less. As a general sweeping statement that nation can't seem to build high end saloon cars without the high end repair bills. Harsh but fair.

Go drive one, I'm betting you'll buy it. They just go, no fuss, no hassle, planted, secure. Highlights include the gearbox and the engine note on full throttle. I was only driving it for maybe 10-15 minutes, but it's made a serious impression.
The closest modern car I've driven to compare an ISF to would be an E46 M3 - no comparison, although to be fair you wouldn't expect a 10 year old design to stack up well. Lexus too, so I doubt it would ever, ever fail to proceed.

They are awesome, I've been a passenger at VMax in one, they're faster than they claim and managed 172-174mph (from memory). I've also been in one around Castle Combe and it was rather good fun from the passenger seat. Sounds a lot better than the V8 M3 too in my opinion.

I do wish there was something to sort those exhausts out though as I'm not a fan.

The signs in the background say "Moorfield Point".. Moorfield Point is actually on the same industrial estate as Lexus is..

This is the one that was the press car that attended Vmax (I do have the real plate too but that would be rude):


The other one I was a passenger in at Combe definitely wasn't anything linked to Toyota / Lexus as it had a cracked windscreen for a start
