Ordered my hardtop with my Elise S last October from the dealership (Frosts in Shoreham).

Being in a hurry and a Lotus virgin I paid full dealer price - not cheap over a grand as I recall.

As I leave the car in a railway station car park all day the security aspect appealed.

Keeps the car a lot more snug in 'orrible winter weather - but is annoying on a sunny winter's day as you can't just 'whip it off' as you would your soft top. The side profile of the car improves IMHO as it looks like a tiny Le Mans car!

Keeps almost all the rain out!

There are firms which offer alternatives which are cheaper but not sure of quality etc.

They are worth having - all points mentioned above are valid, however since the first rays of sun broke out a few weeks back mine's been sat on the spare bed.

The soft top has managed to keep everything pretty dry despite recent torrential downpours - all things considered I'm very pleased.

Have you checked out the classifieds here and on other boards (e.g. SELOC)? Perhaps stick up a "wanted" ad?

Met this guy at Donnington - looks good and works well but I was put off by the finish - considering it was the show model ....

Have a look at one 'in the flesh' first.
