A bit of background. I have been looking for a cheap everyday watch for a while now, something a little different to my usual taste, preferably a timeless style. I even started a thread asking why divers were so popular, as I never really got it, but thought someone may say something that would make me see the error of my ways. And a few of you did, to be fair, so I considered an orange monster Seiko, or perhaps a more traditional pepsi bezel style.
Anyhow, although I know that popular & ubiquitous means good in most cases, I just couldn't do it in the end. So I only went & bought an Invicta last night didn't I!! Now I knew nothing about them, although a quick search (after I bought) revealed many thought them to be a cheap "copy watch" brand.
But that really doesn't matter too much to me. They look well made, I like the look of a lot of them, & I chose one that had proper depth resistance to water, & importantly, one with a good lume.
So to sum up, I am sorry, but there you go. I am happy with it, for the money, although the true test will be in the wearing. Just don't hate me for it.

Seriously, there's only one person you need to keep happy, that's yourself! Enjoy it.

Thought you'd 'Sinn'ed from the title!

Mate - if you're happy, that's what matters. It's not really a copy of anything either - general style but apart from that it's got its own lug arrangement, funky bezel, different handset, crown protectors etc, so fairly original I think.

They use Miyota (Citizen) movements, so should be reliable.

That watch isn't copying anything that I can think of. Loads of watchmakers copy each others designs anyway. Even very expensive Swiss watchmakers do it to an extent, so I wouldnt worry about it.

It has some design themes from Rolex and Oris (the lugs) but then good classic design is often emulated. It's certainly not unpleasant to look at. Personally I think it looks like it would be a decent, chunky size on the wrist.

The Invicta brand is pretty popular in the US right now and as said above, if you are happy then that's what matters most.

Invicta do some nice stuff, always loads being shifted on Watchuseek.

Where did you buy it from ? Is there a European seller ?

Orient Makos are a similar beast.

Ok, so not been frowned upon, as I feared it might.

I really don't worry what other people think, I do like it & if its as good as in the pictures I have I will be well pleased.

Sneijder, I bought it from a seller in the US on ebay, £89 delivered.
AlexC1981, I believe the movement is now a Seiko NH25/26 in this watch, after some digging.

No worries.

It's certainly not my cuppa, but at least it's not one of their models that's straight copy of another watch.

For the money, not bad, although I assume some import taxes may be due too? Personally, I find the face/bezel ratio a little awkward for me, in that the face is too small compared to the largish bezel. Other than that, OK, particularly the colour scheme. Do let us know how it feels once on the wrist.

Invicta have recently caught my eye. There is a bright yellow one in particular on eBay for about £60 which has caught my eye for a cheap bash about.

Amazon have it here for £68.

Yes, I considered that one too, it was the bezel colour that made me choose the one I did in the end. I see this has the Seiko movement too, does this make it a little more desirable perhaps?
