Can you put a Boxster through a car wash?
Discussion
Sorry, this might be a really daft question, but I've always assumed that it would be bad news to put the Boxster through a car wash as it might force water through the seals, etc BUT having a yellow car means that it's constantly filthy and I struggle to find a spare 2 hours at the weekend to give it a good clean.
Is it worth the risk of running through a car wash, or am I just being hideously lazy?

HIDEOUSLY LAZY!
NEVER take ANY car through a car wash unless you want swirl marks galore - on the boxster it's also not good for the hood proofing.
You must get a good car shampoo - a non-abrasive one, a decent polish (not Auto-glym or other halfords sourced abrasives) and a real caranuba wax (such as swissol or zymol). Should only take 7 or 8 hours, and that's if you don't clay-bar!

Go to one of those hand car wash places you sit in and 20 YTS Nova boys will wash it in about 15 minutes for about a Fiver. Not as good as washing it yourself but wont cane it like a Safeway mega wash!
no no no, I wouldn't let any of these gravel-sponged muppets near my car. Ask them what they use for car shampoo, then also ask them if it makes their hands softer and their dishes cleaner
so as not to damage the roof put it downbefore you drive in and then you get an interior valet for free...
but dont forget to get out before you put it through unless you want a wash aswell.
Dont forget the bin liner to sit on as the seat may be slightly moist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
or you could "do as i do not as i say"
If you have a yellow boxster then you have to give it a wash at least 3 times a week 2 quick wash's and leather dry about 30mins and then 4 hours at the weekend including all door edges in wheel arches backs of wheels etc. and a polish every 2 weeks
