Popped into Goodwood on Saturday as there was a Saywell International Supercar day raising money for The NHS Trust i work for...

Car of the day though for me was the DeTomaso Mangusta that was parked up next to some Pantera's and the incredible BAC Mono....

Anyone know anything about the Mangusta, I bit of digging shows just over 400 made with only (Wiki fact)128 left in existence??

I understand that there was a US version made that had pop up headlights, which i wouldnt image looks quite so good.....

sadly no pics..... It was very nice though, looked fully restored in a very deep metalic blue, highlighted by unmarked chrome-work and wearing larger wheels).

Acutally, from a brief search, I'm a knob and know nothing about De Tomaso's. You might be right, sorry.

liked the reason (supposedly) why it was called the Mangusta. Apparently it is Italian for Mongoose which eats Cobras!!!

I managed to get a couple of pics, including the exhaust (which is a work of art in itself).

Love Mangustas. What an amazing looking car. Just the right balance between poise, power, and elegance.

The light green one?
There was a light green on at Brooklands Auto Italia last year, on foreign plates and a lighter blue one at a Goodwood Saywell day last year. I'll have a root around for my photos of them.
